How many districts are in the PA Senate?
50 PENNSYLVANIA SENATE DISTRICTS. The ULDC area has two PA Senate districts — 14 & 16.

How often are Senators elected?
25 of the 50 PA Senate seats are up for election every even numbered year. Only odd-numbered districts are on the ballot in 2024. Even-numbered districts will be on the ballot in 2026.
Term is for 4 years.
What is a Senator’s salary?
Annual salary of $102,844.07/year Per Diam Allowed $181/day
Since 1995, state law has given all 253 legislators — plus the governor, lieutenant governor, cabinet heads, the row officers, and all judges — an annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) based on the rate of inflation in the greater Philadelphia region.
What are the requirements for a PA Senate Candidate?
Must be at least 25 years old.
Must be a citizen and resident of Pennsylvania for a minimum of four years.
Must reside in their district for at least one year.
Individuals who have been convicted of felonies, including embezzlement, bribery, and perjury, are ineligible for election; the state Constitution also adds the category of “other infamous crimes,” which can be broadly interpreted by state courts.
No one who has been previously expelled from the General Assembly may be elected.
What are the responsibilities of a Senator?
The PA Senate, along with the the PA House of Representatives is part of the General Assembly, which is the legislative branch.

Setting policies
Developing the state budget in conjunction with the Governor
