Register to Vote
You Must Be Registered to Vote at Least 15 Days Before An Election

► College Students May Choose to Register with Their Home Address or Their School Address
Please consider registering in Lehigh County, if you qualify.
Registered at least 15 days before an election. ( See Election Calendar)
To register, go to vote.pa.gov and follow the instructions. (You can also use that site to check to see if you’re already registered to vote, and make changes to your registration if necessary.)
Once you are registered, you can choose how you want to submit your ballot – either by a mail-in or absentee ballot, by voting early in person or by voting at your polling place.
There are 3 Options for Voting in Pennsylvania
► Early Voting By Mail Ballot — Return via USPS , Secure Drop Box (5 available),
► or deliver to the County Voter Registration Office
► Early Voting In-Person at the County Voter Registration Office during business hours
► Voting at Your Polling Place on Election Day — 7 am – 8 pm
Early Voting by Mail in Lehigh County
You must apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot every year
Apply for a mail-in/absentee ballot ASAP on line or by mailing in a paper application available at vote.pa.gov.
You may apply at any time, but remember that you must apply 7 days before any election in order to participate in that election. Seven days before the election consider voting early at the voter registration office.
Annual mail-in or absentee voters are automatically sent a renewal application every year. The Lehigh County Voter Registration Office sends out the applications to voters on the list, via the US Postal Service.
Once your annual application is processed, you will automatically receive a mail-in ballot for any election in the year.
– Every ballot has a unique bar code associated with the voter’s name

– Lehigh County Voter Registration Office will announce the date the ballots are mailed See Election Calendar
– Check the status of your application or your Mail-In or Absentee Ballot at pavoterservices.pa.gov/BallotTracking.
If your status shows “Pending” you will receive a ballot. If there is no record, you will need to re-apply. Call the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office if you have questions 610-782-3194
Please provide your contact information on your ballot application. Providing contact information (email and/or phone number) will allow the Voter Registration Office to contact the you in the event that there is an issue with your ballot.

READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS On the instruction sheet, on the ballot & the envelope
USE MEDIUM POINT BLACK PEN (do not use felt tip)
ALWAYS USE BOTH ENVELOPES whether mailing, using a secure drop box or taking to the voter office.
PLACE BALLOT IN THE YELLOW SECRECY ENVELOPE FIRST, before sealing it in the mailing envelope.
Yellow Secrecy Envelope cannot have any identifying marks.
SIGN and DATE the BACK OF THE OUTER ENVELOPE
SIGN, where indicated, on the lower left of the back of the envelope. DATE, using the date you are signing.

3 Options for Returning Your Mail Ballot
1) MAIL YOUR BALLOT ASAP Mailed ballots must be received by the county election office by 8 p.m. on Election Day–Postmark does not count.
MAIL FROM THE POST OFFICE to improve deliverability.
2) RETURN YOUR BALLOT TO A SECURE DROP BOX
► Lehigh County Government Center ballot box is available 24 hours, seven days per week. There is a dedicated slot on the outside of the building, next to the main entrance.
►Four other secure boxes are available during business hours.
Please note the hours of each location. (Locations may have changed since the last election.)
Each drop box location will be monitored via electronic surveillance.
⚠ RETURN ONLY YOUR OWN BALLOT. This is the law. Violation may result in prosecution.
Exception: See Third Party Ballot Delivery for instructions and Certificate of Designated Agent Form, available in English and Spanish.

Early In-Person Voting in Lehigh County
How to Vote Early in Person at the Voter Registration Office
Voters may vote in person at the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office.
As soon as printed ballots are available, you can request, receive, vote and submit your mail-in or absentee ballot, all in one visit. Registered voters, who have not previously requested a ballot, may vote in person at the Voter Registration Office.
Request a mail-in or absentee ballot. You will need your PennDOT ID number or the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. Please refer to the list of ID requirements for mail-in or absentee ballots for more information.
The county will process your application while you wait and, if you are eligible, they will give you your ballot.
Mark your ballot selections, following the instructions provided
Seal your ballot in the white inner secrecy envelope that indicates “official elections ballot,” making sure not to make any marks on the envelope. Your ballot must be enclosed and sealed in the yellow inner secrecy envelope or it will not be counted.
Place the secrecy envelope in the Outer Envelope
You must SIGN & DATE the OUTER MAILING ENVELOPE
Sign, where indicated, on the back of the envelope.
Date, use the date you are signing.
Seal the envelope.
Submit your ballot to the Voter Registration Office

Accommodations For Disabled Voters
Voting by Mail – If you have a disability that prevents you from applying in person for your mail ballot or delivering your mail ballot, you may designate an agent to deliver your ballot materials for you. You must designate the agent in writing using this form or a form provided by Lehigh County.
Voting in Person – All Lehigh County poll locations are handicapped accessible. Visually impaired voters will be able to vote on an electronic machine, specifically designed for that use, in every polling place.
